On 3/7/2025 Maiya was arrested under false pretenses. Her mother Tommelia Mckay called the police because she was irritated by Maiya "slamming pots and pans" and disturbing her live stream. All her daugther was trying to cook dinner for her son and brother. Maiya and the kids have been tiptoeing around the house for the sake of Bigo Live. Maiya was so quiet we had no clue Tommelia Mckay was harboring a fugitive.

When the police arrived Maiya was avoidant due to the fact she had 6 warrants and did not want to go back to jail.

Tommelia didn't care that Maiya's son was present for the ordeal. Making sure to tell the police Maiya had warrants. Making no mention of her daughter attacking her until she heard the officer say "If she didnt touch her im not taking her."

She planned on using the situation for content and financial gain, she rushed to get the body cam footage of the arrest to get ran up for the content. But unfortunately, Nony beat her to the punch.

A portion of the proceeds will go to Maiya's books because Tummy K said she will not be putting any money on her commissary. We stand by and support Maiya.
